Lexus and Rocky

Meet Lexus and Rocky

Meet Lexus and Rocky. They are a bonded pair of 6 and 7-year-old Pit Bull Terriers. Because they are bonded, it is much harder to find homes for them.  U2SA is sponsoring Rocky and Lexus. U2SA will cover all adoption fees and will also pay up to $500 the first year for vet bills for the two.

Lexus and Rocky are very sweet and friendly to humans.  Between the two of them, Lexus is in charge.  Rocky follows her lead and does whatever she tells him to do.  Rocky has been attacked in the past by other dogs and has unfortunately become reactive to other dogs, so they need to be in a home with no other pets.  These two are very playful and love to have their humans interact with them, cuddle, and play.  They were relinquished by owners who felt that they needed more space than they could provide them living in an apartment environment.

Because they are still very young acting, they will do best in a home with a yard where they can run and play.  They will also do best in a home with no small children as they have not been tested with small children.  They MUST be adopted together as they exhibit high-stress behavior when separated.

About the Dog

Tell us about how the dog will fit in to your life.

Agreement that all dogs must be (and kept current on):

  • Spay/Neuter
  • Age appropriate vaccines
  • Heartworm preventative
  • Flea Treatments
  • De-worming (as appropriate)

We require someone (16yrs+) to be in the home, i.e, work from home, be a stay at home parent, be retired, have opposite shifts, etc., - at least half of the day throughout the work week to assist in socialization skills and potty training of a young puppy.

Dogs over the age of 1 should not be left unattended over 8 hours.

All current dogs, owned or residing in the household, must be spayed or neutered unless a medical issue prohibits the surgery--as prescribed by your vet. All dogs, owned or residing in household, must be up to date on shots
Processing your application does not imply nor guarantee that you have been approved to adopt this dog. We receive many applications for the same dog. You will receive an email letting you know that we will be processing your application. You will also receive a separate email if your application is approved.
While it is always our hope that a placement works out for both the dog and the family, on rare occasion, it is sometimes impossible for a family to keep the dog. If at any point in the future you should be unable to care for or keep this dog, we require that U2SA be notified and the dog returned to us. If you have a new suitable home in mind for the dog, all steps will be taken to attempt to place the dog in the home of your choosing. The dog will not be turned in to a shelter or animal control.
Is your Spouse/Partner/Roommate or parents aware of and in agreement with your adopting a dog/puppy? Parents will need to be contacted if you live at home.
